“42 They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” (Acts 2:42, NASB).
Have you ever had an exciting or happy story to share, but could not find someone to listen to? Have you experienced feeling sorrow without anyone to share it with? The fact that you recognize the difficulty of these situations reveals how social we are as people.
Life often contains joy and sorrow. Sometimes we experience each on the same day – even within the same hour. Our well-being depends upon sharing our lives. Sharing brings us peace. It gives us resolution. Sharing may also help us find a solution. Sharing laughter is far more impactful than laughing alone.
Becoming a member of a church can help improve the social aspect of your life. At church, you can find others to learn with, to laugh with, to cry with. It is likely the reason God gave us community. We all need to refresh our spirits from time to time.
I am encouraging you to hear the invitation: “Receive Jesus into your life. Make understanding Him the focus of your days. Come to church and know the LORD is good.” Come to church. Come on Sundays. Come on Wednesdays. Come to talk, to cry, and to laugh.
On September 14, 2025, I am hosting a New Member class at 9:45 AM in the HUB. This is an opportunity for anyone who wishes to be a member of First Methodist Church of Azle, a Global Methodist Church, to come and have a conversation with me about joining. All who claim Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior are welcome to join the church.
Those who desire to join FMCA join like-minded, Bible-believing, Christ-centered, Spirit-led Christians on our walk of discipleship together. We take vows to encourage one another in Christian love and hold each other to our common beliefs in Christ and his Church. We are not perfect (we are all sinners saved by God’s grace in Christ) …but we take our vows seriously and graciously as we live holy lives together in the Spirit of Christ.
Come and know the LORD is good.
